Update from America

A year ago today, I returned from a life changing journey throughout the South Pacific. I spent a year and a half exploring the blissful beaches of Australia & the awe-inspiring mountains of New Zealand. I fully embraced the antipodal lifestyle, and was uneasy about my return to the East Coast of the States.

Reverse culture shock is so real. It can take months to adjust back to life at home. I missed my daily walk to work, my weekly hikes, the plentiful healthy food options... and the sunshine! Luckily, I had lots of wonderful distractions. I fell in love, spent time with family and friends, and continued my career in the travel industry as a South Pacific Consultant at the luxury wholesaler Swain Destinations. Sharing my knowledge and love for that special part of the world is my passion, and being able to create lifelong memories for our clients is incredibly rewarding.

Now, I am feeling much more settled about my more simple "adult" life. I squeeze in as many long weekend adventures as I can, and seek out beautiful parks and trails around me. Some of my favorite trips from this past year include Montreal, California, and Colorado; I am excited to share my experiences with you.

This week I am traveling to Australia for work. I had the freedom of selecting the destinations that I am going to visit, and I will highlight my favorite locations upon my return. I am particularly thrilled to stay at Southern Ocean Lodge, a luxurious retreat set on a rugged cliff on Kangaroo Island. Shoutout to my awesome boyfriend for hooking me for a Nikon DSLR camera for Christmas. The pictures that I will be able to capture will be a game changer!

Please look forward to more content on remarkable destinations to add your bucket list!
